Shiokara is a food in Japanese Ilga Salted Squid made from various marine animals that consists of small pieces of meat.
One of the most popular requests from our customers has been salt & pepper squid for some time. This crispy and spicy product is perfect for buffets or feeding the family for meal after meal. The tender squid makes for an irresistible combination with the warming salt and pepper crumb.
For best results, we recommend deep frying or air-frying. However, if you don’t own the required kitchen appliances to fry the squid or are simply looking for a healthier option, the product can also be oven cooked at 190’C for 15-20 minutes.
Please note the salt and pepper squid will not be as crispy if it is oven-baked. You can shallow fry them in some oil prior to oven baking for 2-3 minutes to add a crispier texture. Adjust oven time accordingly.
