Sports Nutrition Made Easy
Editorial Reviews
Review
“This slender but info-dense book is packed with practical, concrete advice for fueling up, maintaining energy, and recovering from physical activity, backed up by research and explanations of physiological processes. Large sidebars and pull quotes get the point across—even to readers simply skimming the pages. Includes 33 appealing recipes.”
—School Library Journal
“Rating: OUTSTANDING. This attractive, contemporary, hip-looking, casual-sounding title…will surely motivate young athletes to be more conscious of their nutrition, make simple, immediate changes, and perhaps even keep focused for the rest of their lives on both healthy nutrition and positive athletic performance.”
—BayViews, Association of Children’s Librarians of Northern California
“There are a ton of magazines out there that will tell you how to get in shape but Feeding The Young Athlete is the only guide I’ve seen that understands the uniqueness of the teenage body. This is important, and it’s well done. Kudos all around.”
—Bookslut
“With so much partial and misinformation available through the internet for young athletes, there is finally a common sense, an informational book written for them in simple language… There are many boxes with quickly gleaned information, yet the pages never look crowded. Sports Nutrition Made Easy teens will probably begin by glancing at this book, but soon they will want to read it from cover to cover. Athletes are always trying to achieve their best. They know there is a relationship between what they eat and how they perform. Here is a book that is very accessible. Every library should own this book, display it and recommend it for teens, their parents, and coaches.”
—CLCD, Children’s Literature Comprehensive Database
“A great resource for parents, teens, and coaches who care about easy alternatives to junk food and the nutritional reasons behind them.”
—Clare Hodgson Meeker, Author, Soccer Dreams
